Browzine is an app, available for Apple, Android, and Desktops, that allows you to browse and access journals. Single interface access enables simple use regardless of device. All e-journals in the Monash Health Library collection are available through Browzine. If you need assistance with using BrowZine or any of our products, contact us at library@monashhealth.org or via the chat button. 

  

Initial set up steps for Browzine on mobile device:

  1. Select your Library option as Monash Health 
  2. Read and accept Privacy policy
  3. Use your Monash Health staff login details ie employee number and password, select Login option – allows full-text access
  4. Journals can be located by using search option – under title or subject or subjects list

BrowZine offers a mobile app for tablets and smart phone. Once set up, you can use the app to browse our journal collection and manage your own collection of publications and articles. The app will also provide you with full text articles from our subscribed content, optimised in a PDF format for tablets.

The mobile app also provides:

  • Alerts when new issues and articles in press are published for journals in your bookshelf

  • The ability to build up a collection of articles in My Articles, and to organise these into folders/collections

  • Offline access for paperclipped PDFs

  • Export options for reference management software such as EndNote or Zotero

  • Layout optimised for reading journals on tablets
  • PDF layout with most articles
  • Make your own bookshelf for journals of your choice
  • Your mobile device can be set up for alerts to new journal issues & 'articles in press'
  • use "My Articles" option to create easily retrievable article collections by bookmarking them - can be synced with all your mobile devices 
  • PDFs able to be accessed offline
  • Simple process to save to reference manager software such as EndNote or Zotero.
  • See if an article has been retracted.

Set up your own user profile in BrowZine to customise access access, follow titles, build a personal collection of journals in My Bookshelf and bookmark articles that you want to read in My Articles.

To set this up:

  1. Open your BrowZine app (if you need to, install the app first)
  2. Select My Bookshelf or My Articles
  3. Click the Continue link and the Login to BrowZine screen will display
  4. Select the Sign up link
  5. Enter your email and password. Then confirm your password.
  6. Agree to the BrowZine Privacy Policy and click sign up.
  7. Navigate back to My Bookshelf or My Articles to begin customising BrowZine.

You can use BrowZine's 'My Bookshelf' to follow journals you want to follow from our collection. When you select a journal in BrowZine you will receive alerts for new issues and in print articles from that title. To set this up:

  1. Connect BrowZine and be logged into your user profile
  2. Search for the journal title or subject. Or you can browse for journals by using the subject tree provided.
  3. Click the journal you are interested in.
  4. Select 'add to my bookshelf' which appears underneath the journal title.

This video below explains how to find journals to follow, organise them on your personal bookshelf and check BrowZine for new articles from the journals you have selected. BrowZine allows you to search for journals of interest by keyword or use the A-Z navigation and subject taxonomy to browse for titles.
