Indigenous Health Research Outputs
The Research Toolkit provides resources and guidance to emerging and established researchers conducting research at Monash Health.
The Toolkit offers online research guidance, from literature searching to survey tools and research data management (RDM). It also covers researcher tools such as altmetrics, social media and researcher profiles; complying with medical ethics, law and copyright; and publishing resources for open access, open data and avoiding predatory journals.
Monash Health Librarians have developed prebuilt search strategies to support research on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. These searches are available for Ovid Medline, Ovid PsycINFO, and Ovid Embase/Emcare.
Each search incorporates carefully selected subject headings and keywords relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations across Australia. You can use these strategies as they are or adapt them to meet the specific needs of your project.
The Lowitja Institute has developed an online tool called LIt.Search that uses pre-built search filters in PubMed. These filters easily find literature on Indigenous Health topics or Indigenous Health generally. You can also use the tool to add keywords, dates, and search for free full-text.
