"This course is aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care through the understanding and mitigation of cognitive biases. These biases can significantly impact diagnostic accuracy, treatment decisions, and patient interactions. Through this training, clinicians will learn to recognize the subtle ways in which their judgments and decisions may be influenced by these biases...Overall, the course aims to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize and mitigate cognitive biases, leading to improved diagnostic accuracy, enhanced patient outcomes, and a reduction in diagnostic errors".

The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) mission is to improve diagnosis and eliminate harm from diagnostic error in health care.
SIDMs website provides access to learning modules and continuing education on diagnostic quality and safety. The following course is available for a fee ($95.00): Strategies to Identify Cognitive Biases. It has been developed by The Society of Hospital Medicine, in partnership with SIDM, to equip hospitals with actionable risk mitigation strategies and techniques.
SIDM has developed a rich collection of resources and toolkits for clinical teams and educators to improve diagnostic quality and safety, including the Improving Diagnosis in Medicine Change Package.
