The Library has created Reading Lists for surgical fellowship examinations. These reading lists are based off the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) recommended reading lists and include books, eBooks, journals, articles, and web resources. Access them below.

Vascular Surgery Examination

Australian Associations

  • Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery (ANZSVS) 
    • The ANZSVS is a membership based organisation that supports and promotes vascular surgery through its members services and Vascular Foundation. 
  • Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) 
    • Australia’s main national medical and scientific body covering diabetes. Membership base includes endocrinologists, diabetes educators, primary care physicians and allied health professionals also clinical and preclinical researchers. ​
  • Diabetes Australia 
    • The national group representing Australians affected by or at risk of all types of diabetes is Diabetes Australia. They work with diabetes health professionals and educators, researchers and healthcare providers to minimise the impact diabetes has on the Australian community. Their work also includes helping with NDSS services, advocacy, diabetes prevention and management knowledge, supporting diabetes research.
  • NDSS 
    • Australia’s National Diabetes Services Scheme. An Australian Government initiative, it assists Australians with diabetes through access services, subsidised diabetes products and other supports including resources and diabetes health information.
  • Diabetes Victoria 
    • Diabetes Victoria is the leading Victorian charity and peak consumer body working to reduce the impact of diabetes. It advocates for people with diabetes, runs numerous education programs and supports diabetes research. It is also in partnership with Deakin University in the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD). 
  • Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD) 
    • ​​​​​​​A partnership between Deakin University and Diabetes Victoria, this national research facility is the first of it’s kind, both in Australia and overseas. Its main purpose to focus on discovery and learning in relation to those / the behavioural, psychological and social aspects of diabetes.
  • Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute 
    • With a well established history, this internationally recognised medical research facility has a broad reach. Its work covers areas including laboratory research and large community studies which look at prevention, diagnosis and treatment for diabetes, heart disease and associated metabolic diseases.

International Associations

  • American Diabetes Association 
    • ​​​​​​​Leading national body in the United States for diabetes.
  • Society for Vascular Medicine
    • The goals of the Society are to improve the integration of vascular biological advances into medical practice, and to maintain high standards of clinical vascular medicine.
