Access a range of 3D-animated procedural videos in BMJ Best Practice. These short guides show you how to perform common medical and surgical techniques, and include supporting information such as equipment needed, contraindications, indications, possible complications and aftercare advice. Videos are included on ascitic drainage, aspiration and injection, catheter insertion, insertion of intercostal drains, nasogastric tube insertion, ventilation, suturing techniques and tracheal intubation.

  • Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons 
    • The Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) is the peak professional body for the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Australian Dental Association 
    • The peak national body for dentists. It aims to support members by enhancing their ability to provide safe, high quality professional oral health care and encourage the improvement of the oral and general health of the public.
  • Australian Dental Council 
    • An independent accreditation authority assigned the accreditation functions for the dental professions by the Dental Board of Australia under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS).
  • Dental Board of Australia 
    • Established under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as in force in each state and territory (the National Law). The Board’s role is to regulate dental practitioners in Australia under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme).
  • Australian Dental Prosthetists Association 
    • The peak body representing the interests of Australian dental prosthetists and their patients.
  • The Dental Assistants Professional Association 
    • Works for the general advancement of their members and further the professional, social and industrial welfare of dental assistants and receptionists
  • Dental Hygienist's Association of Australia
    • The DHAA is the peak professional body representing dental hygienists, dental therapists and oral health therapists in Australia.

  • Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons 
    • RACDS provides the opportunity for postgraduate study in both general and specialist dentistry, training and qualifications, and Continuing Professional Development through Fellowship and Membership programs.
