Evidence based medicine (EBM) toolkit

  • Learn EBM - information on key aspects of EBM such as clarifying a clinical question, designing a search and appraising, synthesising and assessing quality of the evidence.
  • Practice EBM - information to help explain EBM to patients and support them with making the best decisions about their health care.
  • EBM Tools - checklists which can act as memory aids for the evaluation of studies. Evaluate how much weight can be put on study results and how far to generalise results from trials into routine practice to inform clinical care.
  • Discuss EBM - resources to promote discussion around EBM: what we think evidence-based means, challenges of its adoption, and how we can find and use the best evidence.
